A "Pause for Words"
Longing for Innocence
When I hear the thrum
of an early Beatle’s song
it brings me comfort and

a time of innocence. I was
young then – too young
to be tainted by the love
and “woo” they sang of
or of the world as we know it
now – so hate filled, so fast-
paced, so apprehensive, and
technology based, so much so
it seems artificial intelligence
is taking over. Sometimes,
all I want is to dream of yesterday,
a time when I thought everything
in the world was good, and that
all we needed was love.
