A Pause for Words

"Manufactured" By Lylanne Musselman

Today the meteorologist

said there is man-made snow,

the result of heat and particles

from factories that “hit low clouds,”

and “seed” them, creating snow

showers. Also, we’re being inundated

on Facebook with self-portraits

by people playing with AI,

taking away creative endeavors

of photographers and artists.

Why is our society in such

a rush to play with our trust,

hijack humanities and ruin

our good nature?

Lylanne Musselman is an award-winning poet, visual artist, and playwright, who lives with her cats and creates in Eaton, IN. She is a member of Hancock County Arts. Musselman instructs writing classes of all stripes at Ivy Tech Community College in Indianapolis and at the University of Indianapolis.
