A Pause for Words
"Field Note" By Lylanne Musselman
A great white
egret stands
among long
linear leaves
of wild rye,
glides graciously
into the calm creek,
his reflection
echoes his image,
handsome as
the Greek hunter
Narcissus,
whose vanity
he thankfully
knows
nothing about.
Lylanne Musselman is an award-winning poet, visual artist, and playwright, who lives with her cats and creates in Eaton, IN. She is a member of Hancock County Arts.
