A plein air paint-out is planned during our Will Vawter Exhibition intake day. • 8:30-10 AM, gather at the Hancock County Courthouse - 9 East Main Street, Greenfield The painting shown is Amy Pasko Blackwell - 1st place, 2024.

About the Event

Entry fee $20 for ages 13-adult, (Ages 12 and under, free)

Register on-site at the paint-out or in advance.

Free coffee and pastries, one lunch and artist gift bag for each artist (while supplies last!). The day is sponsored by Leo’s Market and Eatery and Scattered Bean Coffee Co and Blick Art Materials.

WATCH FOR ROAD CLOSURES FOR THE HANCOCK HALF MARATHON:

FRANKLIN STREET WILL BE CLOSED FROM OSAGE TO NEW ROAD

DEPOT STREET WILL BE CLOSED BETWEEN RILEY AVENUE AND PENNSYLVANIA

·        8:30-10 AM, gather at the Hancock County Courthouse (9 E. Main St. Greenfield). Have your paper/canvas stamped; enjoy refreshments; receive instructions and map. Create at the Thornwood Preserve, Beckenholdt Family Park, Riley Park, Hancock Co Fairgrounds, within the Downtown Historic District, and two other countryside areas around the county.

·        1:30 PM, return to the courthouse to be eligible for judging by Susan Bunce Ritter.

AWARDS BY AGE GROUP: Adults: $200 and $100; Ages 13-18: $75, Ages 12 and under: $40.

Artists are invited to sell wet works painted at this event.

Artists are invited to display their works on June 13 at the Will Vawter Awards Presentation.

The artwork will then be placed for display from June 18 – July 25, at Thrive, Community Foundation of Hancock County,

971 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN, with a public reception on July 11, from 4 – 8pm.

Unsold artwork must be picked up on July 26 between 5-7pm from the HCA gallery.


We are asking artists to not paint standing on the Pennsy Trail, until after noon. There will be 400 running in this first HancockHalf.

The Hancock Half Marathon will finish early afternoon.
