Celebrate Art in Hancock County

Join and/or enjoy our en Plein Air on June 3.

We will be on the Courthouse lawn, 9 W. Main Street.

And from June 9, through July 8, visit our gallery to see the best Indiana Artists.

We welcome them as they pay tribute to

one of Hancock County's sons,

Will Vawter.


 

June Exhibit At The Gallery

Will Vawter Juried Exhibition and Art Sale

Our annual Will Vawter Art Competition attracts the best artists throughout Indiana winning prizes and events held throughout the month, until July 8. The awards celebration will be held on Friday, June 9th in the Living Alley.

And don’t miss the beautiful Will Vawter painting, on loan from David Spencer, which will be on display in the gallery. It’s always great to see these masterpieces offered to us by generous area art collectors. Our juror this year is Kjell Wangensteen, the Associate Curator of European Art from Indianapolis Museum of Art at Newfields.


Second Friday Reception June 9 – 6:30 to 8:30 pm

Entertainment provided by The Greenfield Fiddlers, GCSO, from 6 - 9, in the Living Alley

Monthly Creative Nonfiction Group

4-week sessions discussing different aspects of creative nonfiction, pulling from memoir samples and books on craft.

1st Saturday of each month, June 3, Wood Carvings, by Jim Webb, demonstration, stop in from 11 - 2 at our gallery.


2nd Saturday of each month, June 10, Crayon Coloring, by Diana Moore, demonstration, stop and join in from 11-2 at our gallery.


June 19, Hancock County Children's Choir Camp
Join us on June 19th for our annual summer camp! We're planning a day of musical fun and exploration for students ages 5-18. No musical experience necessary! Your children will have a great time and learn about rhythm, movement, and making music!

Description: We're planning a day of musical fun and exploration! Through instruction by experienced music educators, students will discover the pure joy of making music. Students ages 5-18 will explore rhythm, movement, and vocal production through engaging activities. This will be a day your children won't forget as they discover the music in them. After you sign up, invite your friends! Schedule: K-6th grades will meet in the afternoon with an opportunity for membership assessment in the morning. 7th-12th grades will attend camp in the morning with an opportunity for membership assessments in the afternoon. July 29, 9 - 5, Pennsy Trail Art Festival:

We have a large area reserved and are looking for artist members to help, bring some crafts for interactive activities with the hundreds of visitors. We have face painting, doggie paw painting, and an acoustic guitar playing. If members have something you would like to promote that day, send an email and we can fit you in. One of the best festivals for music and art.

  • Needed: Volunteers for Saturdays in June and July, to cover open galley. Visit www.SignUpGenius.com and enter hancockcountyarts@gmail.com as the creating email.

  • Needed: Gladys Cravits: The Board is looking for a volunteer to search Social Media sites of other Indiana Art Galleries. We would like to know about class offerings, prices and how our web site compares to other galleries. The volunteer would make a brief written report to be submitted to hancockcountyarts@gmail.com. This information would be used as a base for determining future offerings/events for the 20N Gallery. Help us improve what we do, for the community.

  • Needed: Time to update our gallery lighting. Light Bulbs to update our gallery to Day Light Bulbs.

  • Needed: Laser Copy Paper- Always

  • Needed: Starting a Monthly Art Lecture/Chat series. Can you help?

  • Needed: Crew of 3 to assemble shelving in the basement-may take an hour...

Are there any glass art classes for fused glass? Have taken a few workshops at Lulu’s Petals/GRT. Bought a used kiln & unsure how to startEd.
