It is a New Year
Hancock County Arts is excited!
Each new year is a blank canvas, inviting you to paint it with experiences, growth, and joy.
It is a blank page, waiting for you to pour ink randomly to express your thoughts.
It is a musical instrument, lying in wait for you to pick up, play and create your sounds.
There are opportunities to develop your canvases and papers.
And opportunities to play your sounds for all to hear.
Come paint, draw, write and play with us.

Art development in junior high and high school plays a vital role in nurturing creativity, self-expression, and critical thinking during formative years. Through art, students learn to communicate ideas, explore their individuality, and develop problem-solving skills in innovative ways. It fosters emotional growth by providing an outlet for self-discovery and stress relief, while also building confidence as students see their skills evolve.
Additionally, engaging in art education helps students appreciate diverse perspectives and cultures, laying a foundation for empathy and open-mindedness that benefits them in all aspects of life.
____________
A "Pause for Words"
A Recipe for Happiness
Blend in family time, combine often,
avoid getting too spicy, especially when politics
gets whisked in. Relish your differences.
Always assemble to laugh, hug, love.
Mix in friends to make life savory,
fold in your talents that bring you joy,
knead those for at least a few hours
each week, if not daily. Create, create, create.
Top that off with just enough sweet chocolate,
your favorite pizza, or sugar cream pie for a treat.
Make sure to reduce stress, bills, and the 24/7 news.
Repeat, repeat, repeat.
